CALIFORNIA LATINO CAPITOL ASSOCIATION FOUNDATION
Our Events:
CLCAF hosts a multitude of events throughout the year for members, sponsors, and the Capitol community. Some include:
Mixers: CLCAF hosts various networking events throughout the year to provide members a space to socialize outside of the work environment.
Brown Bag Luncheons: The Foundation's luncheons provide Member’s of the Legislature an informal setting where they can share their insights on various policies, professional experiences leading up to their post as Legislators, and future aspirations, among other topics.
Summer Internship Program & Scholarship: A 6-week internship for California high school students to learn about the legislative process. Interns are placed with Legislative offices or third house advocates. Students receive a scholarship to assist with their college expenses.
Policy Briefings: Briefings provide members and staff a better understanding of working in and around the Capitol. Various professionals share their perspective on policy topics, advise on best staffing practices, and make sense of significant state issues. Topics vary.
Lobbyist/Advocate Mixer: This event is a reception to honor and thank third house advocates who support CLCAF through their sponsorship and guidance.
Golf 101 & Family BBQ: This is a scholarship fundraiser where you can learn to golf from a special guest, play a round, and enjoy a family friendly BBQ.
Holiday Toy Drive: CLCAF partners with local organizations to host a networking event and toy drive. Toys are donated to children in need in or around Sacramento.
Fellows Welcome Reception: This annual reception is hosted to welcome incoming fellows (Assembly, Senate, Executive, Judicial, Etc.) to the Capitol.
